this year`s Landing point
Over four days, the SMF spaceship lands at various locations, with its main program anchored at the House of Music—Berlin's premier creative hub in the vibrant RAW area.
Immerse yourself in Berlin's vibrant day and nightlife at some of the city's most iconic urban music hotspots in districts like Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain.
House of Music
The House of Music is Berlin's creative hub for musicians, companies, and organizations from the music industry. It is located at the RAW area in Friedrichshain/Kreuzberg, at Revaler Strasse 99, 10245 in Berlin.
Noisy Rooms
Noisy Rooms is Berlin's rehearsal space for musicians. We offer 23 rehearsal rooms ranging from 15 to 65 square meters in size as part of the House of Music. During the festival, we utilize these rooms for product presentations and workshops for our audience.
BIMM University
BIMM University offers music, film, and performing arts programs up to the master's level. It is located on the second floor of the House of Music and hosts Open Days at SMF for prospective students to experience life at BIMM University Berlin. Additionally, workshops are available for students and visitors to participate in..
HHV Store
Hip Hop Vinyl Store, Berlin's renowned shop for vinyl, shoes, and streetwear, is located in Friedrichshain at Grünberger Strasse 54, 10245 near the RAW area. They frequently host in-store concerts and events featuring artists from all around the world.
K-Pax
Join us on July 11th for a special event following our afternoon showcase at HHV store. The party continues at K-Pax, located at Markgrafendamm 18, just 2km from House of Music. Don't miss the epic scratch session, save the date and join us for a memorable night of music and fun.
Lighthouse
The Lighthouse for Digital Art is a modern museum devoted to exhibiting digital and new media art. Located in Berlin's RAW area, near the House of Music, it offers a one-of-a-kind immersive experience. A special ticket allows you to explore a captivating installation delving into the mysteries of the universe.
breaking new ground
Our main event is hosted at The House of Music, home to the Noisy Rooms, Berlin's premier rehearsal spaces for musicians, producers, and DJs. During the festival, these 16 rooms will be transformed into fully equipped creative hubs, thanks to support from our industry partners.
Here, participants can create, experiment, and collaborate with artists from diverse musical backgrounds they might not otherwise meet.

World Premiere
We proudly present the world premiere of a groundbreaking composition that blends turntablism, finger drumming, and modular synthesizers. Using innovative notation techniques, this captivating symbiosis aligns with the festival's vision, showcasing these modern instruments' artistic, social, and academic significance.

FD World Championship
Since 2017, we have proudly hosted the World Finger Drumming Championships. On July 19, Berlin will welcome the world’s top finger drummers for an electrifying competition. Festival attendees can expect jaw-dropping performances and incredible music.

MusicOneX
live Stage
MusicOneX, the innovative music fair at Prolight+Sound in Frankfurt, draws approximately 30,000 visitors annually. In collaboration with the SMF, musicians can showcase their fusion projects live on stage. Outstanding performances will be rewarded with a paid gig at MusicOneX 2026.

Jam boxes
Join or book one of the 16 jam boxes at Sample Music Festival for a rehearsal or jam session with new or old friends. Whether you're a turntablist, guitarist, finger drummer, music producer, or singer, you can use your own equipment or gear provided by our partners. All sessions are geared toward being showcased during the festival or shared on social media.

outdoor stage
Every weekend, the RAW area draws thousands of visitors, many of whom pass by the House of Music without stopping. With our Outdoor Stage and captivating finger drumming and turntablism showcases, we aim to change that. A specially designed short-visit ticket invites attendees to explore the venue and immerse themselves in the experience. Feel free to reach out if you want to perform.

Dmc Scratch Battle
As part of SMF, we’re hosting an Open Format Scratch Battle under the banner of the DMC, the official DJ World Championship active in over 30 countries since 1986. The festival will showcase top scratch DJs competing for a coveted spot in the World Finals in Tokyo in 2025.

Scientific Symposium
This year, our annual symposium focuses on the world premiere of an innovative composition that merges turntablism and finger drumming. The event will feature an in-depth presentation of the notation models used and a detailed exploration of the composition's development process.
