Clash of the Titans

As part of SMF, we’re hosting the legendary Clash of the Titans battle —an international scratch competition established in 2020. Each participant has one minute to showcase their skills on the ones and twos. Don’t miss this epic showdown in Berlin!

Schedule

The event will take place on 18th of July at 11PM at House of Music.

Rules

Showcase style, vinyl only on turntables and a mixer. Competitors perform a 1 minute Scratch routine for the elimination round. Judges choose their top 8 DJs to advance to the final round. 8 finalists perform a 2 minute Scratch routine. Judges decide the top 3.

Hardware

In order to ensure a fair and seamless competition experience, every competitor will have the opportunity to perform on identical equipment. The set up consists of a TECHNICS MK7 SL1210 turntable including TBA needles and a high-quality DJ mixer (TBA). To accommodate all players, each set up is available in both a left-handed and right-handed configuration.

Criteria

The jury will consider the following criteria in making their decision: musicality, fader & record performance, cleanliness, complexity, flow, timing, and creativity.

To finalize your registration, it is necessary to purchase a competition ticket from our shop. This ticket not only serves as confirmation of your participation, but also grants you exclusive access to all the events and activities at the festival. Accommodation

We have partnered up with a hostel which is nearby our venue. On the hostel website you can get 10% discount on shared rooms with our code FRIENDS. However, a credit card is required to book the rooms.
