After nearly 3 years of great anticipation, Berlin welcomed us back for the 6th edition of the Sample Music Festival. Everyone was ecstatic to reunite with their beloved friends of the community, and the feel was especially nice at the RAW area. All the good vibes were in the air and it was a truly memorable event.

For the inaugural launch, we installed our program in two different locations – Cassiopeia and House of Music – broadening the scope of the target group. House of Music is the creative hub located in Berlin featuring several rehearsal rooms, which were ideal for our purposes. Through our tight collaboration with locally-based social workers, youth initiatives, and other organizations in the community, various young artists were attracted to the different workshops, and even got the chance to perform live on stage.

This new direction in taking social responsibility has kickstarted a groundbreaking cooperation with the renowned NGO Turning Tables, and we are proud and greatly anticipating all upcoming projects in partnership with Sample Music Festival.

At our symposium, we were privileged to have had John Carluccio, from New York, present his insightful lecture on the development of turntable transcription methodology. Additionally, Bob Kruijer gave a illuminating lecture on the Scratch Visualizer, a project based on the concept of displaying scratch techniques in real-time. It inspiring for the audience to observe the growth and progress of this project, which was initially presented by Nicholas Caris three years ago.
