This year, we were proud to announce the expansion of SMF to a five-day event in Berlin. The result? The best SMF event to date. With showcases, workshops, competitions, and an abundance of jam sessions, spread out across three locations in the city.

Our competitions drew in participants from an impressive 14 countries, including Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, the Netherlands, Slovakia, and more. We made history at the 8th edition of the SMF in Berlin, as we proudly hosted the very first DMC competition for electronic music. In addition, we had lectures and a panel discussion on the same evening, featuring the esteemed Dr. Motte and other influential figures from the electronic music scene. The panel tackled the thought-provoking question, "Is the DJ truly a musician?"

In addition to the DMC Scratch Battle powered by TECHNICS & JICO and the Finger Drumming World Championship powered by YAMAHA, we introduced a new format that quickly became a highlight of the 8th Sample Music Festival - the Team Routine Battle. This unique competition brought together talented players from different countries for an unforgettable showcase.

All visitors who have joined SMF this year will have the chance to experience the unique atmosphere of creative exchange and friendly networking that has characterized this year's event.
