Finger Drumming is an art form that has revolutionized the way we create and perform music live. It's an incredibly precise and fluid way of playing beats on a midi controller. Pioneered by hip-hop producers utilizing the iconic Roland TR-808 drum machine, finger drumming has become an exciting and creative way to generate live beats. Through the combination of traditional drumming techniques with cutting-edge technology, artists have been able to create innovative grooves and rhythms that have captivated audiences all over the world.
An accomplished finger drummer is able to expand their range of expression beyond the confines of only step sequencing or programming. They can unlock the full potential of the pads, allowing for a much more intuitive and creative approach to music production. With this technique, families of sounds, beats, and phrases are at the fingertips of producers, enabling them to shape their own musical destiny.
